Asian Regional Congress on the Death Penalty

  • News
  • 5 Jun 2015

Our co-executive directors have been invited to speak at the 2nd Regional Congress on the Death Penalty in Kuala Lumpur. The Regional Congress, co-organised by Together Against the Death Penalty (ECPM)  and the Anti Death Penalty Asia Network, will be held in Kuala Lumpur on 11th-12th June 2015. Parvais Jabbar will be sharing our experiences of our work leading to the abolition of the mandatory death penalty and Saul Lehrfreund will be one of the key speakers in the roundtable session on unfair trials in capital cases.

About the Regional Congress

Since 2001, ECPM has organised World Congresses against the death penalty. These international events bring together thousands of members from civil society, political representatives, lawyers and experts around the world with the aim to create new strategies for universal abolition. The 6th World Congress will take place in Oslo in 2016. Since 2012, the World Congress has been preceded by a Regional Congress. The first was held in Rabat (Morocco, October 2012).
